Good Morning

You may look at a rain dropped or dew dripped rose
and think upon its colors and fragrance
that attract the bees and other such pollen gatherers and spreaders and proliferators.
You may marvel at its symmetry
and ponder its origin.
You may wonder over the contrasts of its thorns and softness.
You may pass it by and never give it more than a passing glance,
barely acknowledging its presence, having seen one before.
Or you may pause in this rush of fleeting fragile life,
breathe in the fragrance and make a mental memory
that you have lived this moment in another good morning.
