Prelude to Spring

© 04/30/08

By Dahni

A Tulip in all its brilliance
In all its textures and colors and hues
An invited and anticipated guest
Whose stay is as brief
As its glory is fragile
Petals unfold by day
And close by night
Until they finally fall
And the tulip is but a prelude to spring
For the street sweeper is the beginning

From the collection: ‘Full Measure’ by the same author

Just Imagine,
